KE-Safety hoods are specially designed as a cover and extra protection of rubber expansion joints in case of special operating conditions out-side requiring extra protection against outside influence in form of fire, strokes, sharp objects, or similar and/or flow of dangerous media inside requiring extra protection of the environment due to the risk of possible leakage.

KE-Safety hood Type MA1 for marine and ship applications protection against fire and is approved for use in ships. This type of KE-Safety hood is constructed with insulation material as well as a fire protective cover.

Inside: 50 mm insulation material is wrapped around the flange area. The first 600 mm of the pipe connection has been insulated with 40 mm thick insulation material.
Outside: the fire protective cover is made from several layers of insulation material, finished with an outer cover sewn together from several pre-formed parts to secure the insulation.
